The hands of our founder and the strong women who surround her have guided every Asteri makeup creation, and the collection continues to draw inspiration from women in Arabia and beyond.
Our woman-led ethos shapes everything we do, and it’s a spirit represented by a striking calligraphic ‘sisters under the stars’ motif that you’ll see stamped into pressed powders, and adorning packaging and accessories. In many ways it defines the brand’s guiding principle: that wherever we are in the world, together we can shine brighter. Inspired by this sense of sisterhood and belonging, Asteri is a celebration of modern Arabian beauty in all its forms, created for skin tones and types across the spectrum, in weather-proof formulas that work wherever in the world you are.
As well as testing products for performance in the world’s leading beauty labs, it was important to the brand’s founder Sara Al Rashed that every Asteri product was also trialled by real-life women who know a great makeup product when they wear it, and who better to take on the challenge than friends and family? With their busy work, family and social lives, these modern Saudi women demand a lot from every product in their makeup bag – and first impressions are everything – so if a product gets used on repeat? Asteri makeup has driven through the desert and had a busy day at the office, been on vacation and out to dinner – it’s been quite a journey, and the formulas that our favorite women have helped us create are now ready for you to take on the world.
With real women instrumental in shaping Asteri’s products, it follows that their influence would be far-reaching in all aspects of the collection’s creation. The brand’s Legacy Lipstick shades are all named after important women in Sara’s life, with each of the pigment-rich hues inspired by their unique personal style and favorite colors, from vibrant jewel tones to versatile nudes. Hala is a bold berry-red hue named after a similarly strong and confident close friend, Salwa is a desert rose pink a that reminds Sara of her eldest sister, while the deep burgundy of Fatima offers a tribute to Sara’s grandmother, who was rarely seen without her traditionally-made lip tint. Sara’s namesake lipstick shade reflects her own keep-it-simple approach to makeup, captured in an easy-to-wear, peachy nude lipstick shade that’s already become her signature lip look.
